Anxious about the Dentist? Fear No More

It’s not uncommon to dread going to the dentist, especially if you have a well-founded reason to believe your dental health has been neglected, or if you had a terrible experience at the dentist in the past. However, there is a difference between dread and dental anxiety. Research shows that up to 20 percent of people actually steer clear of the dentist because of anxiety.

At the Cosmetic Dentistry Institute, Drs. Craig and Marcy Goldin and their friendly staff work to create a tranquil environment at our luxury facility, where you as the patient can feel completely at ease, even to the point of looking forward to attending future appointments. In Troy, dental anxiety does not need to remain an issue!

How to Prevent Dental Anxiety

Our trusted dentists, Drs. Craig and Marcy Goldin, also encourage people who are prone to dental anxiety, whether they are patients at the Cosmetic Dentistry Institute or not, to do the following to put their fears of the dentist to rest:

Is your dental anxiety so severe that you actually lose sleep over going to the dentist or feel faint at the dentist? People experiencing these sorts of symptoms and who only go to the dentist when they absolutely cannot put it off any longer due to tooth or gum pain may actually be suffering from dental phobia, something much more severe than dental anxiety. Those with dental phobia should also communicate their feelings to their dentist.
