Fastbraces®: A Straighter, Healthier Smile in Just Months
Straighter teeth can improve your ongoing oral health, appearance, and self-confidence. However, you may be worried about orthodontic treatment because you are concerned that it will mean spending several years with bulky braces on your teeth. Fortunately, Dr. Craig Goldin, Dr. Marcy Goldin and Dr. David Whalen proudly offer Fastbaces® at their Troy, MI practice. Dr. Craig Goldin is a certified provider of Fastbraces®. In comparison to traditional braces, Fastbraces® can provide great results in as little as three months. In addition, many people find this accelerated treatment to be gentler and more comfortable than standard orthodontic appliances. Fastbraces® from Cosmetic Dentistry Institute can be a great way to correct a wide range of orthodontic issues. However, it is not right for everyone. Your dentist will conduct a complete exam to determine whether the treatment is appropriate for you.
Are You a Candidate for Fastbraces®?
Fastbraces® is suitable for both adults and teens. If you or your child struggles with any of the following orthodontic problems, you may be a candidate for Fastbraces®:
- Crowded teeth
- Gapped teeth
- Open bite
- High canines
Fastbraces® may not be right for you if you struggle with very pronounced misalignment or severe bite imbalance. In addition, this may not be a good option if you have temporomandibular (TMJ) disorder.
Before beginning Fastbraces® treatment, Dr. Craig Goldin will create a detailed treatment plan. In this way, he can achieve optimum results in the shortest possible time.
How Do Fastbraces® Work?
Before beginning Fastbraces® treatment, Dr. Craig Goldin will create a detailed treatment plan. In this way, he can achieve optimum results in the shortest possible time. Fastbraces® work similarly to traditional braces. However, instead of having square brackets affixed to your teeth, you will receive triangular brackets. This shape will allow your dentist to place the brackets further apart. In turn, this will multiply the strength of the arch wire by eight times. Your dentist will run the wire between the brackets, and it will exert a constant, gentle force on your teeth. When your teeth have reached their desired new positions, your dentist will remove the braces. He or she will also supply a retainer to help you maintain your treatment results. Once your teeth have stabilized, you will typically wear the retainer while you sleep.
Benefits of Fastbraces®
As the name implies, the biggest benefit of Fastbraces® is the shorter treatment time. Fastbraces® will target the roots of your teeth, causing them to shift position in your jawbone. Traditional braces, on the other hand, will not typically address your dental roots until the second year of treatment. With this approach, Fastbraces® can often achieve desired results in as little as 20 weeks. In addition, many patients find this treatment to be more comfortable than traditional braces. Although the arch wire will exert a greater force, the placement of the brackets will make the pressure feel much gentler.
